That's enough snow !!

The last couple of days we have been heading north to Deadwood to see Mt Rushmore & the presidents carved into the mountain & the nearby mountain being carved into Crazy Horse, the Indian chief. This is the biggest sculpture ever & is bigger than the entire Rushmore mountain carvings. .It was commenced in 1948 & is still under construction.
Anyway after 1100 miles of driving we turned back at Chugwater, only a few hours out of  Deadwood due to severe weather & dangerous road conditions. However we have seen a lot of country in Colorado & Wyoming.
We are now heading South toward Santa Fe.
We have had enough snow & cold.

                                                                 Coming into Denver.

                                                     Colorado Springs, Air Force academy.

By train to Cascade canyon.

An interesting day, started of rainy then turned to sleet & then to snow & then heavy snow & a thunderstorm with plenty of hail on the way home.
Most pics don't need explanation.

The snow has buit right up to the roof of this shelter.

                                                             The snow continues to fall.

The train museum at the station was warm & extensive.
